This little joint right by the beach was amazing!! We'd recommend the fish tacos and the fish and chips. Outside dining only or take out. Service was quick and food was fresh and hot. The batter on the fish and chips is ligit hand dipped. If you opt for the fish tacos, you'll get three corn tortilla stuffed to the gills with seared cod topped with cabbage slaw, pico and a spicy creamy drizzle with just enough heat and flavor.

So much fun! Right off the beach, easy parking and really nice people serving AMAZING FOOD! Everything I heard about the tri tip is true, it is the BEST. Reasonable price for a big beefy sandwich

Came here for the first time and let me tell you, the chowder here is amazing!!!! The bread was freshly toasted and perfectly paired with the clam chowder soup! We also had their tri tip sandwich sang their tri tip burrito, I think I'll favor the burrito more because I didn't want to keep dipping. For those who don't like good touching, stick with the sandwich. The guy serving us gave us great recommendations and service! This place has the perfect location! Right before the dunes entrance! Menu is easy to read and simple to choose from. Grab some food and picnic on the beach! There's a table if you wanted to eat there but really, the beach is within walking distance. Perfect stop and great CS. Will definitely return, tomorrow!

A Little hole in the wall type of restaurant, but right by the beach with outdoor seating. The people working the ordering are also the cooks. Be patient when you are there, it'll be worth it. My family and I went offroading in the dunes one day and hung out on the beach another. Both fays we ended up grabbing dinner from slappys. Portion of food was more than enough. We ordered the tri tip sandwich, fish n chips, shrimp n chips and clam chowder. First day we ordered and ate on the beach in the back of our gladiator. Second day we ate on the beach again, but inside the gladiator while I aired up our tires. Did not get a picture of tri tip sandwich. Was too good to stop for a picture. Smoked tri tip, you can taste the smokiness. We also ordered a side of onion rings, all were very good. There were much more that we wanted to try. It'll have to wait til our next trip. Our stomachs were happy with slappys.

Was not my first choice, the place across the street was closed the other on hwy. 1 opened later, so here we are...I ordered a chicken strips breakfast burrito. It was huge! Fries nice hot and crispy. Nice lady at the order here window. Outdoor seating area w if needed. I would go again. Did not disappoint. An option of a fresh made green or red salsa would be nice tho

The website said they were closed but we called and they were open. Paid $20 after tax for their Tri-tip burrito. It was healthy in size. Fed me and my honey bunny. The inside is closed but it was nice to set outdoors while we waited for our food. Right off the beach and a great view of the ocean. All in all it was an ok experience. Sad that they won't be opening the inside area for those cold days to enjoy a bowl of chowder. Wasted space.

Slap me up for some good chowder anytime I am in Pismo! If you are looking for a nice chowder spot that has easy access to the dunes and off the normal busy parts of Pismo then this is a nice spot. The street outside can get busy with recreational vehicles going in and out constantly but it also adds to for great people watching. Slappys is a great place for breakfast and/or lunch. From breakfast burritos to corn dogs to chowder. All the classics done right. Warms up the foodie soul on the nice chilly Pismo beach.

If you're by the beach, this is a convenient place for a bite to eat or sweet treat. You order at the window and pick up after. I'd recommend their mac & cheese, loaded fries, breakfast burritos, or ice cream. The tri tip sandwich is primarily meat and bread, with bbq sauce on side.

Wanted to try Slappys clam chowder and it was decent. I don't think it's better than Splash Cafe. They also only have outside seating. The beach being super close was such a positive addition! Our friends got their fish tacos and a strawberry milkshake. They also liked it!
